#7: How to turn your old essays into cash

How would you feel if I told you that the excruciating 10,000-word dissertation you wrote at uni could in fact put a few pounds in that back pocket? The bane of your university existence is currently sat on your hard drive or shelf collecting dust doing nothing but remind you of the lengthy library hours surrounded by that strange Asian student with the new balance shoes and the weird girl that slurped cans of cheap Tesco energy drink. With minimal effort, I’ll guide you through the process of changing that book of horror into cash.

There are many websites out there that offer to pay for your thesis’, dissertations and essays. The website I have chosen to list my dissertation on is GRIN. I found the user experience on this website levels above the rest. It’s very easy to create an account, and the process of submitting your paper is seamless. Once you have created an account, simply upload whichever paper you wish to submit from your personal collection. Please make sure that you have permission and/or the rights to upload the paper before doing so, as it may breach GRIN terms and conditions. GRIN gives you several options on how you wish to make money from your paper. You can either take a fixed fee of around £10.00 or if you believe you can make more, select the royalties option and you will receive a percentage of the sale of your paper. Royalties are paid quarterly and you can view your statements within your account.

The next steps involve typing a little bit about your paper in terms of bio, title, grade etc. Once you have uploaded your paper, it will be queued to be reviewed by experts at GRIN which will decide whether your paper is fit for purpose. This may take up to a few weeks to be completed but once approved, your paper will go live and what monies you receive will vary as to which option you chose previously.

Signing off…

This isn’t a get rich quick scheme or a way to quit your day job and move to Ibiza however the ease of this process is worth a shot anyway. The money could fund a takeaway, a few bets on a Saturday or even your phone insurance for the month. To get started or to learn more, just visit GRIN and see for yourself.
